Surveys: Salary Survey Participation

As I hope you know, the AUGI Annual Survey is running right now (through August 6th). So, this month's poll is asking folks whether or not they participate.

If you haven't yet, please feel free to follow this link to participate: http://www.augi.com/surveys/current-survey/current-survey/

This month's homepage poll asks whether or not members participate in the Annual Survey.

So, thank you to the 68% of respondents who say they take the time out of their day to contribute to this unique industry resource! I get correspondence year round from people who have made use of the data you help to provide, and you should know how much your peers appreciate it.

And, to the 19% who say they'd like to participate, but seem to miss catching the survey when it is open, I have been listening to you folks and trying to let you know earlier. Obviously the best reminder is here in HotNews where polls and surveys are talked about every month, but, I have also requested targeted emails and support through our social media channels. Hopefully everyone who wants to take part gets that chance this year.

There are some folks out there, 11%, who do not participate because they do not see a value in the report. Fair enough. If you can get your salary and job market data elsewhere, more power to you (obviously, I would appreciate a tip of where you do get information along these lines, the more information the better).

To the folks who think the survey is too long, I'll admit that especially with embedding a survey as we currently need to do, it is a bit of a pain to get through quickly. This year, I have pared down from four pages of questions to three, and made use of more dropdown boxes, so you can find your selections and move on. I hope that has helped.

And, finally, to the handful of respondents who said they do not participate in this Annual Survey because they fear the results are not actually anonymous, I will state once again that this data is not examined or reported individually, nor is it linked to your profile, username, email or in any other way shape or form.

Please feel free to peruse the survey archives for past reports: http://www.augi.com/surveys/salary-surveys/previous-salary-surveys/ (you must be logged in to download survey results).

While the results will be published in the September issue of AUGIWORLD Magazine, as usual, I would like to give you a peek at the participation numbers below. If your industry is one of those with few responses, we would ask that you recruit some of your colleagues to chime in, too.

Once again, I thank everyone in the community who comes together to share resources and data.
