Letter from the President - August 2012

Dear AUGI member,

Welcome to the August 2012 issue of AUGI HotNews!

So, have you taken the survey yet? No? What are you waiting for!?

The 2012 Salary Survey is now underway and your input matters. We will be collecting this data and collating it for the September issue of AUGIWORLD magazine. If you need the link, here it is: {page_463363} (note: you will need to log in to take the survey).

Now, on to the updates!

Tiered Membership Plan
Programming is well underway and the new membership groups have been created within the website system. Soon, you will have the option to maintain the basic (free) level or to upgrade to the premier or professional-level memberships. Once we go live with the various levels, we will let everyone know and outline the differing benefits for each level. Keep an eye on the website and we'll let you know when we go live.

Local User Group (LUG) Listing
We are updating our database for local user group listings as we develop the programming for a new LUG listing on the website. If you have information about a group in your area, even if you are not managing it yourself, feel free to share that data with our LUG Director Shaun Bryant (shaun.bryant@augi.com).

AUGIWORLD Magazine is still rocking on. However, we are looking for someone to volunteer as a Content Manager for AutoCAD Plant 3D as well as Alias products. If you know these products and would like to assist in finding authors, please contact me (david.harrington@augi.com).

AUGI Wish List System
We have been collecting wishes for almost a year and have nearly 5,000 wishes in the system!  Autodesk is very interested in seeing what AUGI members want in future versions of their software. Now is the time to get into the system, do some ranking, and casts your votes on the products you use ({page_400346}).

Autodesk University 2012
Official registration opens for AU2012 on September 5th, 2012. However, if you are a member of AU Online (it’s free), you get to register a week early starting August 28th, 2012. Register at http://au.autodesk.com.

Want to be an AUGI Volunteer?
This organization exists because members like you choose to help out and donate a bit of time to help in areas of their passion. Do you have an interest in helping? If so the first step is getting with Dezi, our Volunteer Director (desiree.mackey@augi.com). She can help you figure out where you want to volunteer or explain the current needs of the organization. We look forward to working with you.

And with that, see you in the forums!

Take care,

David Harrington
AUGI President
