June 2008 Voting Results

The results of the Wish List voting held during July and August 2008 are presented below. The Points column totals the votes for a particular wish by giving a wish ten points for each first-choice vote, nine points for each second-choice vote, etc. through one point for each tenth-choice vote.

The First Choice column indicates how many first-choice votes a wish received.

The Score column normalizes the Points total for a wish by dividing it by the number of voters so that the popularity of a wish can be compared across voting cycles even though the number of voters in each cycle would differ.

4. "Mode-less" properties dialog 416  19    150.72
Make the properties dialogue so that it can be left open and docked to the side of the screen, rather than having to close it to see changes that have been made.

5. Make wall and floor materials part of the room properties to allow finish scheduling 412  7    149.28
I wish walls and floor materials were part of the room properties and from this generated a finish schedule.

6. Constraints more clearly visible in the family editor 385  5    139.49
I wish that constraints were more clearly visible in the family editor. For instance, dimensions that are locked could appear a different color than those that aren't locked. That way you wouldn't have to click on each one to find out. And there could be a check box that would show wherever a line was aligned and locked to a reference plane. It would be great if you could right click on the padlock and whichever items that lock is referring to would turn a different color!

The ability to spread Revit screen elements across two monitors.

8. Reference Label "Sym" as an Instance Parameter 344  6    124.64
For the Reference label ("Sym.", "Typ.", "Opp. Hand") to be returned to an instance parameter rather than a type parameter.

9. Better Schedule Sorting & Printing 320  9    115.94
I wish I had an Excel-like controls over Schedules, formatting cells and fonts, having the changes reflect in my Schedule page and not on the sheet.

10. Automatic door and window legends 313  5    113.41
I wish it was possible to create automatic window legends, for example create a legend template where the plan and back view of every used door and window is shown ordered by mark. I'd also wish it was possible to tag legend components and auto-dimension named embedded ref planes. Automatic dimensioning is possible for walls already.
