Poll: When do you upgrade?

I hope everyone enjoyed the most recent issue of AUGIWORLD magazine, packed full of articles on the 2016 Autodesk products and their features! It does beg the question, though, exactly when do you need to know about these features in-depth? When will you be upgrading your software?

Thank you to everyone who chimed in on this month’s homepage poll, gauging when AUGI members are upgrading their software.

It looks like 65% of the membership will upgrade within a year after a software release comes out.
19% will upgrade every two years.
5% will upgrade every three years.
11% will upgrade at some other time, whether longer, or only when dictated by some other system change.

When I supported engineers, I installed the new version right away, in case I needed to work with any Revit MEP models for current projects. Of course, now that the bulk of my work is with software that works with AutoCAD, I only upgrade my seats when I upgrade my primary software, due to the plug-in compatibility.

How about you? If you didn’t take part in this month’s poll, you can always join in a past discussion in the CAD Manager’s forum and see how others make the decision:

Please take a moment to swing by www.augi.com to share your favorite 3rd party application. See the results of that poll in next month's HotNews, and then see what your favorite authors have to share about their favorites in AUGIWORLD Magazine.
