AUGI and Local Chapters
AUGI and Local Chapters are partners with a common mission: to provide support for Autodesk product users. At the local level, users benefit from face-to-face contact with their peers at chapter meetings, enabling them to form professional relationships and broaden their pool of resources. Local chapters can focus on the particular needs of individual members, providing educational opportunities and sharing information important to their area. Local chapters are able to tailor their meetings and programs to their specific local area, its members, and customs. Local chapters can also be a great source for jobs, new hires, and personal product support. AUGI.com operates with a slightly different perspective. AUGI.com’s support and education services are provided to members from around the world and are, therefore, broader in nature. AUGI provides a “voice” for users worldwide, making their needs and desires known to Autodesk. Autodesk, in turn, uses AUGI members’ suggestions—collected from our multiple product based “Wish Lists”—to improve its products. Plus, AUGI.com, is open 24-7. If you have a question, you can post it in a forum at any time of day or night. Chances are good that someone in the same or a different region of the world is awake and knows the answer to your question. If you wish to download a routine from the AUGI Exchange, you can do that from the office, from home, or wherever you are. If your question is whether to join a local chapter or to join AUGI, the simple answer is "join both". You will get benefits from your membership in a local chapter that you cannot get from AUGI. By the same token, you’ll get benefits from your AUGI membership that local chapters can’t provide. By becoming an active member in both, you will gain the best of both worlds. |
